Brady Island Glass Recycling Center
This proposal is located on Brady Island, an island on the Houston Ship Channel. The project is complete with glass recylcing processing spaces from sorting, transformation, storage and office spaces. The building has a unique section quality with many spaces elevated at different heights based on foldability priority. With the nature of recyucling building typology being widely non-conditioned, the materials of CMU organized in perforated patterns allows the spaces within to beathe. The building is porous to the wind and views towards the ship channel, allowing the predominant South Eastern wind to revitalize the building.
The project started with a heavy process of a multitude of internegative sketches that then were explored through physical massing models. Spacial analysis was coordinated through AutoCAD with a BIM model to follow through Revit. Experiential and material studies were conducted through Lumion.
